Has Extreme Couponing helped or hurt our idea of couponing?

When looking at the amount of people who utilized coupons
before Extreme Couponing versus who uses coupons now, there is a significant
difference. However, the reason for the huge surge in couponing is not only the
show on TLC but the amount of people who are on tight budgets due to
circumstance. And to put it bluntly who doesn’t want to save money?

Due to what is shown on TV, many people may think that
Extreme Couponing can be done by anyone, but the reality is, not all areas are
fortunate enough to have grocery stores that double coupons. However, with that
being said, I don’t believe that people should give up on couponing. There are
still large savings to be had; you just have to seek them out. The first step
that a beginning “grocery” store or any type of couponer could do, would be to
check local papers, blogs online and coupon websites such as coupons.com for
potential printable coupons. By surfing the internet and social media websites
such as Twitter, Facebook and Google a person could find many, many coupons. If
you are fortunate enough to find fellow couponers on places such as Twitter and
Facebook, they are constantly updating and sharing great deals, so befriend and
follow them to an adventure to and in great savings. Also, one last thing, the
majority of people who use coupons are legitimate and use the code of coupons,
so make sure to find out all of the coupon policies that exist at the stores
you are going to be shopping at. It’s better to know the coupon policy before
you go and if you are still unsure after reading it, print it out and get
clarification from a manager before beginning your shopping trip. J
